Ulster Rugby Caps
Andrew Trimble, known as Trimby to fans and team mates, is known for his tenacity of spirit and positive physical approach to the game which has earned him the respect of many international wings.
A strong-running player, who is comfortable on the wing or at centre, Andrew Trimble’s power, pace and instinctively running angles has made him one of the most prolific finishers in the modern game.
Despite having had just eight Ulster appearances under his belt, Andrew made his international debut for Ireland in November 2005, winning his first cap against Australia at Lansdowne Road and scoring a brace of tries against Romania the following week.
Andrew made the squad for Ireland’s 2006 Six Nations Championship campaign, scoring his third Test try against France, and retained his place in the elite set-up for the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
In 2006 Andrew picked up the coveted Ulster Player of the Year award and the following year became a Celtic League winner with Ulster.
Andrew now has the distinction of having played 2 World Cups, amassing 70 international caps to compliment his 213 for Ulster.
A produce of Coleraine Academic Institution, Andrew is a well-rounded individual who is a credit to his family upbringing.
Studying Theology at Belfast Bible College, Andrew clearly has a strong faith, but he combines this with a sense of fun, quirky humour and a massive desire to succeed in whatever he turns his attention to.
Andrew’s slightly unconventional character makes him stand out from the stereotypical rugby player, and as a result makes him a highly interesting person to be around.
